36" x 10" photo of Company d 104 Engineers on March 9, 1918 at Camp McClellan in Anniston, Alabama. Photographer: Mason's Studio at Noble and 13th. It is unframed and cracked from years of storage in uncontrolled conditions. While the condition is not great, the photographic quality is good and the content is very interesting. Perhaps your relative is pictured. Or perhaps you can just appreciate the Choccolocco foothills, part of the Appala...cian Mountain chain, in the background. What I found most fascinating were the facilities. At the time of this World War I photo, Camp McClellan used hastily constructed wooden buildings for headquarters, mess halls, latrines, and showers, with rows of wooden-floored tents for housing the troops. A wonderful piece of history.
