Up for auction is a old vintage early 1900s German made G.A. Pfretzschner "Stradiuarius" 2 pc. back full size violin for restoration. The nicely figured 2 pc curly maple back measures 14 1/16 by 8 inches. There are no bassbar or soundpost cracks on the violin and the neck is solid. The scroll and the pegbox are in good condition. The pegs turn smoothly and the fingerboard is in good condition. The soundpost is loose inside the violin and there are no open seams. The violin is labeled a...s a "G.A. Prfetzschner Markeukirchen nach Antonius Stradiuarius Cremona faciebat anno 1716". The violin is for restoration. The violin has age related scratches/wearmarks on the varnish (please check pics). The violin will need a nut, saddle etc. (please check pics). Please check pics. and email questions. More pics. available upon request.
