Features: A very impressive older vintage (art deco era, 1932 to 1935 heavy ring for man but could also be for woman . Made of solid 14K gold (yellow gold with white gold setting) and a round cut white diamond of very good quality (at least VS2 , clear within the white color range (of at least J), sparkling beautifully. Diamond is about .42 ct (as in about 42 pts). It's rare . An earlier design by the O.M. Resen Co., USA. Active fr...om 1929 and incorporated in 1932. Has impressive earlier smith workmanship in an eye catching arts and crafts design . For a 14K gold ring, it's heavy . Weighs 7.1 grams . It came from our family heirloom's earlier 1900's jewelry collection . It was very well kept and in excellent condition . Diamond alone are worth more than its heavy weight in 14K Gold . Ring Size: Looks impressive on most fingers. Though ring is a size 9, it will also fit size 8.5 without significant shifting, based on this type of shank design and mounting. For those in other countries, such as Ireland, UK and AU, size 9 is R 1/2 and should also fit size R and size Q 1/2. Also consider that right hand fingers tend to be a little thicker than left hand fingers (same principle applies in case left handed, of course).Can be resize by your local jeweler who can also stretch it out to a size 9.5 for a very low fee, due to stretching is such an easy quick task .
Measurements: Top (setting) is well over 1/3 inch (11 mm) and nearly 1 inch across (as in 21.8 mm). Shank widths are from about 1/3 inch, tapering to 1/4 inch and about 1/6 inch in back (as in 4 mm) .
Hallmark and Marks: "14K' with firm's mark "R" (pre-dating its late '40's copyright mark with O.M added.
Guarantee: Diamond was inspected and tested by me and another jeweler as natural or total refund . As a jeweler and retired precious metals testing specialist for refinery, I re-assure it will test solid 14K gold (as marked). Prior to listing, I test routinely, regardless of what's marked .
