ITEM DESCRIPTION: We are listing other great watch movement parts so be sure to check them out! In this auction we are presenting a wonderful top quality A. Lange & Sohne Pocket Watch Movement from Glashutte/Dresden Germany made in the 1880s. The A. Lange & Sohne name is synonymous with top German craftsmanship for almost 150 years where today the brand makes one of the best watches in the world. This watch movement was made early in A. Lange & Sohne’s history still having the Dresden mark where their first factory was located. This must’ve been one of the best ladies pocket watch movements the brand made being that it is a ‘quality 2A’ grade where an abundance of top quality features are present such as solid gold escapement, massive solid gold balance screws, blued pillar screws and much more. Condition-wise the watch movement is NOT RUNNING possibly due to rust on the escape wheel pinion. The balance is straight and true but as the escapement currently is locked up the balance does not swing freely. We are quite certain that after the rust issue with escape pinon has been resolved and that the movement has been cleaned/oiled fully that it will run well. This movement is SOLD FOR PARTS ONLY THUS WE DO NOT MAKE ANY GUARANTEE AND THERE IS NO RETURN. Cosmetically the enamel dial has crack to the 4 & 10 o’clock text area. The seconds hand is also missing. Otherwise the movement is in very good cosmetic shape. Diameter is 31-32mm.
