Here on eBay some categories of items are considered in the listings to be antique if prior to 1940 in age. And that varies in categories. In the ART category, an antique is pre 1900 while in the collectible category under clocks an antique is pre 1930. This same category lists vintage as 1930-1969 while vintage guitars are pre 1980 and vintage toy soldiers are pre 1970. We can go on and on but my point is there is no set and fast rule on eBay concerning dating, for they themselves vary it. We honest dealers can only give our best estimate and judgment as to the items age, condition and value.
