Raspberry Red Beryl (also sometimes called Bixbite) on Rhyolite Matrix - Location: Thomas Range, Juab Co., Utah. Thumbnail (see photo for more details). Here we have an attractive gemmy raspberry red beryl crystal on a small volcanic rhyolite matrix from the Thomas Range in Utah. This is a beautiful gemmy tabular red beryl crystal and the crystal is a raspberry red color, which is different from the "normal" dark red color that usually characterizes the red beryl from the Thomas Range.... The beryl crystal is well-formed and sharp and is gemmy along with a glassy luster.
