WWI GERMAN GEW 98 Mauser Rifle Stock set Complete marked E.B.R.R.15.154. . Used, but in overall very good condition considering it's over 100+ years of age. This stock is still attractive and in a very solid and very serviceable condition. When you catch the light just right you can see the tiger stripe grain in the beautiful hard wood (Please See picture # 3&7). The E.B.R.R.15.154 stamped on the stock disk stands for: Replacement Battalion, Reserve Infantry Regiment 15..., Rifle number 154. Reference: " The Imperial German Regimental Marking" by Jeff Noll page 39. This stock set is complete with the front and rear bands, band springs, cross bolt, stock disk, sling swivel, flat butt plate and handguard. This is an early version of the WWI German GEW 98 rifle stock with no grasping grove and no takedown /disassembly device in the buttstock. The numbers on all the parts are different and mixed. But all the parts are correct for a WWI German GEW 98 rifle. This stock has the usual dings, dents and scratches expected on a 100+ year old military stock that most likely saw hard combat. But as mentioned above this stock is still in very sound and serviceable condition. The German model GEW 98 long rifle was the standard shoulder weapon used by German infantry in WWI.
