Waltham Watch Co. 18 size 17 jewel open face lever-set Appleton Tracy & Co. pocket watch with rare dial. Dial is double-sunk enamel, marked "Pat. Applied For" over its seconds-register, and features very unusual marginal minute arrangement with an outer chapter for the even numbers and an inner chapter for the odd numbers. Watch is housed in a 20 year gold-filled Philadelphia Watch Case Co. case with engraving and engine turning to its rear. ... Movement serial number is 10501359.Running and a very nice looking movement with good color and luster. Larger winding wheel has an oxide spot toward its perimeter. Dial is excellent with only a patched edge chip under its bezel tight along the edge outside the 1 O'clock area, this flaw does not touch any of the dial markings and is overed by the case bezel so the dial appearance is superb with the bezel in place. Case shows average even wear, a dent to the upper left perimeter of its rear, and some dings to its band.
