This is the classic Clark’s thread cabinet found in many an old general store, no doubt, as well as department stores and specialty sewing outlets. This chest has six drawers, the most you are likely to find. It appears to be oak. Each drawer has a gold leafed label behind an intact oval glass panel. About half the gold leaf remains (you can find new labels elsewhere on eBay). The decorative drop drawer pulls in brass read ONT. My parents bought this piece in an antique store. It cam...e with two places nibbled on by mice on the inside of the fourth and bottom drawer front panels, pointed out in the photos. With grandchildren around, some damage occurred on the molded edges that is also evident in the photographs. Fairly easy repairs for this grand old piece. H. 22 1/4, W. 24 1/2, D. 19 inches.
