Item: Vintage DISSTON SawDescription: For Sale is a Vintage DISSTON D-23 Wheat Handle 26" 5 T.P.I. Straight-Back Rip Saw. I'm not expert on Disston Saws but have learned a lot in the last few years selling them and know where to look online for info. From what I gather, being that this D-23 is stamped "5" T.P.I. (photo#5) instead of "5 1/2" T.P.I. seems to imply this saw was made 1928 - 1947. It's only those years that there was a 26" D-23 with a 5 TPI.&nbs...p; If I'm incorrect, please let me know. I am sure my photos will best further describe this item. Condition: On a scale of 1 - 10 (Ten being New in Package Only), I can confidentlygrade this item's condition to be a solid 8. Overall and Especially for being Nearly 100 Years Old, this Collectible Saw is in Very Good Condition. It is No Less than 90% Immaculate. I don't sell dirty tools. The wood handle (Birch or Cherry I believe) has Zero Cracks, only minor chips and decent original finish. All Brass screws and plug are present. The 26" Blade is No Less than 90% Straight and still shows the Original D-23 Disston Stamp. The Teeth are what I like to call "Sticky Sharp"!!! There is of course scuffs and stains on the blade but surely nothing like pitting or penetrating rust. The metal is extremely healthy in all aspects.
