Frankford Arsenal Reloading Tool, DE-CAPPING ANVIL, from the rare Field Reloading Kit, issued to soldiers in the field, later 1800s to early 1900s.......Clearly marked - ANVIL, with Inspector initials on top. None were marked Frankford Arsenal as the larger items in the kit were..... Still very service-able today, Good to Very good, not rusty.........For use in de-capping 30-40 Krag, 30-03 + 30-06 Springfield, 38 + 45 Pistol.....Also- fits... - 30-30 Win, and all 30 caliber, 7mm, 8mm center fire boxer primed cartridges, except magnums, + 45-70s......... My choice Inspector Initials.......Outside surface purposely roughened for better hand grip in cold weather in the field...... A good de-capping punch can be made from an old dental tool with the curved end ground off, so it results in a straight slender shaft........ Additional plus - See if this Decapping Anvil can be used to neck-resize a 50-70 cartridge case.............. From old W.Stokes Kirk, of Philadelphia, 1876-1974, who got them from Frankford Arsenal in the 1920s.........I had them nearly 50 years.........Would like to limit ONE per collector, to fairly spread this very desirable rare item to as many collectors as possible.....To USA ONLY, Lower 48 states only.
