Original Description:
DeWitt Clinton (1769-1828) wrote this letter on February 7, 1822 while he was the sixth Governor of New York State. Clinton promptly responded to the Comptroller of New York State, John Savage, about a note he received the previous day, "...the subject of it had escaped my recollection...". Written on a sheet of paper measuring roughly 9 1/2" x 15 1/2" that has been folded in half and has an integral address panel. Condition: There are two small stains (offsetting from wax seal) ...and there is a small tear in the paper from where the seal was broken, otherwise very good.Shipping Notes: We ship same day via USPS upon receipt of payment before 3 PM.
