Ames Fine Etched Blade Militia Officers Sword Pre-Civil War 1830s-40s   31 5/8" long with a Beautifully Etched 26" Blade, it has a Nicely Patinated Floral Bronze Cross guard and Egg shaped Pommel. This Rare Sword has a Perfect Bovine Bone Corncob Grip that is highly polished from many years of handling. I have owned many of these Early Ames Swords and the markings on this one can’t be seen as it is covered by the cross guard, they are always lightly marked with a diamond pen.
