BLACK LACQUER ENAMEL WARE MUSIC TRINKET JEWELRY BOX PAGODA MOUNTAINS VINTAGEUp for your consideration is this really nice Asian black lacquer ware musical jewelry box. This hand painted wooden box has an beautiful scene of a Japanese pagoda in the mountains on the lid. The inside of the box is lined with a velvet like material giving the box a luxurious feel. This is an amazing piece and would great as a part of any music box collection. Please be sure to see the ...other items we have listed. FEATURES: The box is made from wood painted with black lacquer paint. It features a picture of a pagoda in the mountain with Japanese trees. When you open the hinged lid, the inside of the lid has a 5 x 3" mirror and a hinged shelf that holds a 7" x 2-1/4" compartment lined with a fuchsia velvet like material.Below the shelf is a 5" square compartment also lined with the fuchsia velvet like material. To the right of the bottom compartment is where the music mechanism is located with a black lacquer ware cover over it. There is also a metal locking mechanism on the front but there is no key.ADD. INFO: INCLUDED: The actual music box pictured NOT-INCLUDED: No original box, packaging or paperwork. No props used for size reference. The corners of the outside of the box lid does have some scuffing and scratching and the silver coating to the back mirror on the lid has some spotting. The musical works are typically mounted from the underside with 2 screws that hold it in a compartment of the jewelry box. In this case the mounting screws must have come loose and were lost leaving the musical works still there but loose inside the compartment. The compartment does have a way to access it to repair it but I will leave that up to the new owner. Finally there is no key to the locking mechanism.
