 Civil War era officer’s pocket telescope or spyglassas used by officers on the battlefield. Measures 6 inches closed and extends to a full 16¼ inches in foursections.  Made of brass – now with abeautiful redish/brown patina.  Leathercover is split and missing a piece but still there. No front lens cap but thesliding rear eyepiece cover is present and works.  I was able to focus and see through theglass.  No chips or issues with thelenses.  Nice ...example for yourcollection.  THANKS FOR LOOKING AND GOODLUCK
