A beautiful pair of decorative cast brass 'Spanish Conquistador' stirrups. These are beautifully detailed and are guaranteed genuine, made for use, and not merely ornaments. One stirrup is stamped DEPOSE which is a French registration mark, whilst these are commonly understood as made in the Spanish style. The overall look was eventually very influential in the Classic ‘Wild West’ American Cowboy aesthetic via the Spanish Conquistadors and which brought the horseman culture to Sou...th America, Mexico etc..A beautiful aged patina and even worn through to a small area of the base (sole) to one example. Note one has a copper sheath across the buckle like bar at front, the other has stamped makers Patent markings? along the bar. These are approx 26cm in length, toe to heel.
