This case is not a factory saleman's display case. Someone replaced the original case back with a bezel from another watch so that the beautiful movement can be seen without being exposed to the outside air with dust. The case is very good condition without any deep surface scratches or deep dents. Both bezels are screw on & off style and both bezel screw on & off nicely. When the bezels are screwed on, there are no excess spaces between the bezels and the middle case. Both crystals are glass and they have some light surface scratches, but they are very clear and I don't think you will need replacements. There are no edge chips on neither of crystals. The bow is firm.
The hour and minute hand are blue color and they have some rust spots as you can see in the pictures. The second hand is purplish brown color without rust spots.
The very attractive dial has no edge chips and there is a very faint hairline on the edge of dial around 2 o'clock where the setting lever is located. The hairline is so faint and tiny and I don't think you can see it in the pictures. There are some light rubbing marks where inside of the bezel makes contact with the dial, but these marks are not bad and not very noticeable.
The beautiful movement is marked "Hamilton Watch Co. Lancaster, Pa. 948 ADJUSTED 3 POSITIONS DOUBLE ROLLER 17 JEWELS SAFETY PINION 971932". According to this serial number, this watch is from around year 1913. There are light rust spots on regulator, but not bad. The screw heads are nice condition.
This watch was professionally serviced and you won't need to have this watch serviced for a few to five years, but I don't offer you any future warranties on this watch as this is over 100 years old antique and any fine mechanical pieces like this one always have some possibilities to have issues anytime in the future even with your proper care. It is amazing that something we made over 100 years ago still works!
I will ship this watch by USPS Priority Mail with signature confirmation as this watch is not easy to replace and the shipping is additional $11. If you live in overseas, please contact me before you place your bid. International shipping is much much more expensive than domestic shipping. I will contact you with your shipping options and prices to your country.
Please feel free to ask any questions.
