This lot comes from a salvage contractor employee that scrapped many of the old WW2 vessels. Item is in good restorable/usable condition. Appears to be no physical damage, just surface imperfections as shown in photos. Can you just imagine the story of thic clock. The things it saw and the Battles or Actions it was in during WW2 and the Korean War. My Dad might have seen this clock when he was transported during the service!
Item comes as pictured, nothing more, nothing less. Will come unassembled as shown. Only the case mounting screws shown in photos are present.
Note: All measurements approximate. I will be listing many other WW2 US Navy items that are a rare offering. Don't miss your chance to buy, as once they are gone it might be impossible to find these items again. There are many parts that will match to my other listings, or to complete your clock's missing parts. Some of these other listings had the ship's name/Id in which they were salvaged from. all measurements approximate
Please take a look at all the photos for condition and check out our other store listings!
More about us:
I remember as a kid being dragged into my great uncle George Gooseman's clock museum in Colorado Springs under the watchful eye of the grand Pike's Peak Mountain. His building was just off 24 Highway in an out of place blue and white striped metal building. It was close to the flourishing, but now gone, Van Briggle's pottery shop and the "Ghost town" tourist spot. Upon entering the doors, the strange blending aroma of older wood and mechanical parts greeted the nostrils in the same manner as the methodical ticking greeted the ears. As one would walk down the hallway to the main open room, the heartbeat of the building grew more intense. Upon turning the last corner of the walkway to finally meet the source of the sound, the sight was incredible with motion and movement as hundreds of clocks were still telling their story of an era quickly passing in time.... It was that love of the creativity and ingenuity of our American inventors and their products that got me started in collecting and sharing antiques, vintage watches, and marvelous clocks. We are now hoping to share that excitement with you, as you would not be looking at this page unless you had some of those same interests. We are not Clocksmiths or Watchsmiths by trade, so we don't do any repairs or shopwork for people, but we hope that we can unite you with that special item you have been looking for or find that part you have been hunting. We list everything we have at the time and do not have "extra" parts in storage. So check back often if you are looking for something because we are adding additional items to our store almost every week………John>The last numbers or letters in the listing heading are for inventory purposes only and do not have anything to do with the listed item itself.
