Meissen Art Nouveau Tile, Circa 1920s

Offered for your consideration is a beautiful Art Nouveau tile.  Ken Forster, in his book “Tiles & Styles—Jugendstil & Secession: Art Nouveau and Arts & Crafts Design in German and Central European Decorative Tiles, 1895-1935, ” identifies the tile as “Unidentified special-use porcelain tile, marked ‘PW FW’ (decorated with the Meissen ‘green dragon’ motif).”  The tile was photographed for illustration on page 27 in Ken’s book.  The tile me...asures approximately 6 inches square.  The words “Meissen” and “Made in Germany” also appear on the reverse.  Ken’s book consists of 240 pages with almost 600 illustrations with a copyright date of 2015.
FYI -- Ken Forster started collecting Art Nouveau tiles around 1980 traveling to countries including Germany, Chile, Uruguay, and Brazil, to name a few.  After writing his book on University of North Dakota School of Mines (UND) pottery, he decided to write his book.
