What a gem! This came from Strategic Air Command back in the late 1980s. Maps like this were posted on cork board in a special room in the underground of SAC. Push pins were placed where we had targets (and where we thought we were being targeted). This map, however, was never used and placed in a closet after the 1991 dissolution of the Soviet Union.
That closet was being cleaned out, and with permission, it was taken from the premises into a private collect...ion. From that person I assumed possession and the story. Now it can be yours! Get a REAL part of our nation's nuclear history with this purchase - and watch Dr. Strangelove!
I need to add that one map has a piece of tape on it to prevent further tearing (South America). The rest of the maps have small tears around the boarders and crinkling, but overall in great shape.
