This is a lovely antique late 19th century oil painting on a porcelain plaque of a young woman. It is in its original ornate gold frame.
It is signed in the lower right corner Korn.
I would estimate it dates circa 1880s or 1890s, but please use your judgment.
The frame measures 12 1/4 inches high x 11 inches wide (31 cm x 28 cm). The painting measures 5 1/8 inches high x 4 inches wide (13 cm x 10 cm). The frame molding width measures 3 3/4 inches (9.5 cm).
The porcelain is ...marked on the back: Reflexion Asti. I believe it is ‘after’ Angelo Asti.
It is stamped with what I believe are the letters LR inside a circle. It’s difficult to make them out though.
The painting seems to have a light film going around the outer edges. This is noticeable when it is sitting in the frame, but if you stand back just a little ways, it tends to just blend in.
The frame itself is in very good condition.
It weighs 2 pounds (904 g).
