Sterling Pilsner Beer empty OI beer can by Sterling Brewers, Inc., Evansville, IN. This is one of three different Sterling flat top beer cans I have listed this week. The brewery operated from 1933-1964. Opening instructions; clean & solid; good colors; mostly clean seam & lids; tiny bump near bottom of side panel to right of seam that does not show up in the pictures; scattered markings, the worst shown in the last close-up picture; grade one minus. An exam...ple is pictured on page 136-33 of the USBC book. A better example is pictured on page 778 of Kevin C. Lilek's United States Beer Cans With Opening Instructions book. It is the can with the MPC "83A 7" number as shown in the second to last close up picture. Lilek assigned the can a "R-5/R-3" rarity rating. R-5 means "Very Scarce: 51-100 known to exist" in grade one condition. R-3 means "Slightly Uncommon: Available" in less than grade one condition.
