HERE IS A SMALLER AND FINELY WOV...EN NAVAJO TWO GREY HILLS WEAVING / RUG! A NICE LOOKING DISPLAY PIECE WITH A CLASSIC 2 GREY HILLS PATTERN - HAND WOVEN AND MADE FROM ALL MERINO SHEEP WOOLS. THIS WEAVING, FROM THE NAVAJO PEOPLE, DATES TO ABOUT 1960 (1955-1965) AND IT IS SPECIFICALLY FROM THE TWO GREY HILLS REGION OF THE NAVAJO RESERVATION. WOVEN IN THE TRADITIONAL MANNER ON A PRIMITIVE UPRIGHT LOOM. THIS WEAVING IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION FOR AGE AND DISPLAYS BEAUTIFULLY AS IS!
THIS IS A REFINED NAVAJO TWO GREY HILLS REGIONAL WEAVING WHICH DISPLAYS VERY WELL, AN EXCELLENT PIECE OF NATIVE AMERICA TO DISPLAY IN YOUR HOME OR CABIN (SEE ALL PICS).
The size of this textile is approximately 30" X 21", with a wool warp of about 10, and a Wool Weft of about 38 (A Fine Weave)!!!. A beautifully designed, well constructed piece of Native America! THIS WEAVING IN EXCELLENT CONDITION FOR AGE (Please see all pics!): The wools within this rug are in great condition, still have luster and sheen, and the weaving is structurally sound. There are NO Holes, NO notable stains, NO fraying, NO notable bug/moth/larve damage (as you can see in the pics). There are a few surface tiny bug/moth bites (weft only, not warp). The Side Selvage Warps are 100% intact and present with no loss to weft or breaks. The End Selvage Cords are 100% intact and present, a twist of two, 2-ply brown wool yarns. The corners are in excellent condition, and all four corner ties are present with minor wear from time/use. Please see ALL PICs and zoom in for description.
