Delightful handcrafted wooden Japanese kokeshi doll. Kokeshi dolls are typically exchanged between the Japanese as tokens of friendship and goodwill. This hand-painted piece stands about 7-1/2" in height and reflects a great deal of charm and character. She wears a pink and silver kimono with little white flowers, and holds a baby. I see a few mild dings to the wood in some places, associated with simple handling and storage. She is free of any major damage or flaw ...and is quite beautiful. She still has her original sticker on her underside. Please see photos. This little doll will make a great gift for a friend, or addition to your personal collection. She is photographed with a soda can for sizing.
