You are bidding on a VERY NICE example of a Schlenker-Grusen Model 1943 WW2 German Luftwaffe Blinduhr (Blind Flying Clock), Fl. 23888, as used in various bombers and destroyers, such s the Ju88, He111, He177, Me110, and others!
Usually mounted at the Navigator's position, this clock needs no introduction. It was made famous throughout the war as the standard Blind Flying Navigation clock for most bombers. Made of aluminum with a bakel...ite bezel, this clock is an EXCELLENT example. There is minimal scratching on the glass, and in overall SUPERB condition. There is some scratching around the edges and signs of wear/use, but it still retains much of it's original paint and finish! Data plate still remains on the reverse, clearly indicating model, type, and manufacture. Also has a NICE BAL stamp on the inside. 100% FUNCTIONAL, however the hinge has broken away as you can see in the photos. Also, the ring that retains the glass is missing (easy replacement). All these issues can be fixed, but I will leave that to the winning bidder to rectify. Would make a FANTASTIC addition to any Luftwaffe collection, panel re-build, or restoration project!
