You are bidding on a VERY RARE example of a 100% ORIGINAL WW2 German Luftwaffe Führertochterkompass (Compass), Fl. 23334! It was used in various aircraft such as the Me109, Fw190, and Me262 Turbojet! This instrument indicated the current direction of the aircraft and pointed to magnetic north. It was located on the main instrument panel. This style was used only in the very late fighter, jets, and rocket interceptors. Made of aluminum and steel, this c...ompass is in AMAZING used condition! Manufactured around 1944/1945, it retains 95% of it's original paint and finish! There are some slight scratches and marks due to the age, but nothing that takes away from the overall appearance. The original data label is still present, but only around 50% intact. AS it was recovered from a wreck (probably an Me109K or Me262), there is some damage at the back, where the plug was probably forced out from impact. Otherwise it is SUPERB! I have indicated it's location in the last photos (very last photo is the exact type). One of the hardest compasses to find, it would make a PERFECT addition to any collection, display or restoration project!
