This is a 1935 (twelfth) edition of THE SPELL OF LONDON by H.V. Morton, published by Methuen. This author wrote sketches or vignettes of life in inter-war Britain, this book being restricted to London Life. The book casts its net wide and takes in the lives of rich and poor, men and women, professional and working classes and describes their life, often with lifted quotes which demonstrate the variety in London English at the time. Very distinctive as an editorial style.Book is in good... condition: clean pages, solid binding. Original and only owner's name is written to the front (shown pic 4). Dark blue boards good.
