Gordon MacCreagh (1889 in Perth, Indiana – 1953) was an American writer.He travelled to Abyssinia with his wife in 1...927, on an expedition to locate the Ark of the Covenant His account was serialized in Adventure and published as a book The Last of Free Africa. After the book's publication, MacCreagh was made a "Knight of the Empire" by Emperor Haile Selassie. He revisited Ethiopia several times and came a friend of Haile Selassie. MacCreagh served as a US Navy pilot in World War I and volunteered for special service for the US and British armed forces in World War II. It is possible that MacCreagh was the inspiration for the fictional character of Indiana Jones.

Condition: Book covers show some edge, spine and corner wear, some soiling, corners lightly bumped with a little fraying at corner tips, some fading and stain on spine cover, light fading on covers, contents are complete and VG with very light edge and corner wear, will find some small corner creases, some pages with light soiling/foxing mostly around edges in blank borders, will find some library markings, some musty/smoky smell due to poor storage. Overall: Book is near G+ to G+.
