The Bible is bound in full leather with gilt brass corners and clasp, gilt dentelles and marbled endpapers, and gilt page edges; the spine has some rubbing, the binding remains attractive and is sound, the clasp is strong. The plain endpapers have a presentation inscription from the Vicar of Newbold to Clara Hawkes on her marriage dated 1874. The text and maps are clean and crisp throughout.
