We have just acquired a collection of cast iron banks and pinback buttons from a museum de-acquisition auction. These items have been in storage for decades. All items listed have not been altered in any way.
Here is a figural, dark paint, Captain Kidd the Pirate cast iron still bank. The bank shows the Captain, with shovel in hand, standing next to a tree. There is nice facial detail. The Captain has a cape-back jacket, buttons, belt, pirate pants and boots. His shovel moves in...side the molded slot. It almost seemed mechanical due to the wiggle room. The base front reads “Captain Kidd.” The bank measures 4” by 2 1/4” and sits approximately 5 1/2” tall. There are no cracks or fractures. The coins slot is on top of the tree.
