So many fri...ends wanted details of their experiences that he combined the letters into a book. Describes the shipboard experience, taking trains in Japan and China, Peking's Legation Quarter, trips to see the interior of peoples' homes in Peking, the Peninsula Hotel in Hong Kong, much more. Fascinating reading as he recounts their day to day activities and difficulties in getting around. No illustrations. Hardcover, 118 pages, very good condition.
