This 1872 edition of "New York and its Institutions" comes in fair condition, with loose binding (front hinge fully detached, rear hinge loosely attached), extensive wear and fading on the cover and spine, soiling and light discoloration of the pages, and additional light handling wear and soiling (see pictures). The book gives detailed historical background of churches, schools, public buildings, parks, police, fire, and health departments, prisons, hospitals, asylums, dispensar...ies, and public & private charitable institutions.
