Col. James Corbett was born in India during the "Raj" period. He was active in the Indian/British army in both World Wars. after WW II he contracted to rid the NE Indian area of Kumaon of a plague of man-eating tigers. This is the last of his five books on the subject.He was a tiger hunter... par excellence, and bagged a few man-eating leopards as well.In his later years he became an outspoken voice in the conservation of India's wildlife and a large National Park in the foothills of the Himalayas is today named for him.
