This sale is for a SCARCEEARLY NINETEENTH CENTURY hardback edition entitled “Letters from a Mother to Her Daughter, at or Going to School, ” subtitled“Pointing Out the Duties Towards HerMaker, Her Governess, Her Schoolfellows, and Herself, ” by Mrs. J. A. Sargant, with a fineengraved tissue-guarded frontispiece entitled “The Parent’s Blessing” depicting“A Virtuous Child”.
It was printed for Whittaker, Treacher, and Co., of ...London, in 1832 and is the Fourth Edition.
This sweet little bookmeasures 5.7 inches x 3.75 inches and has 142 pages, which are gilt edged toall rims.
The book is in internally neatcondition for its age, with heavy wear/frayed/loss to the spine of the originalcloth hardback cover, with a previous owner’s inscriptions (dated 1833 and1869) at the front, a little foxing near the covers, and no other ink or pencilmarkings in the book. The binding is good with no loose or missing pages. There is no dust-jacket.
