Richard J. Neutra is one of the outstanding architects of our time - a master designer, a daring innovator, and a true philosopher. Neutra deals in beauty, form, utility and livability. Together with Le Corbusier, Walter Gropius, Alvar Aalto, and Mies van der Rohe, he belongs to the generation of great architectural pioneers. This magnificent 240-page volume surveys all of Neutra's architec...tural activites of the decade 1950 at 1960. The first section is devoted to twenty original California residences and apartment buildings. The second section treats os his diverse activities in designing schools, hotels, hospitals, churches, and such commercial and public buildings as the U.S. Embassy in Karachi, the Dayton Museum, and Adelphi College. The last section describes Neutra's work in city planning in Guam, Sacramento, Venezuela, and Spain. In all, the book includes approximately 600 photographs, plans, and sketches. The text is in three languages - English, German, and French.
This an ex-library book that has a card jacket in it and associated stamps and markings in it. The dust jacket has creasing and crackling damage near it's edges and has been covered in plastic and taped on to the book. Inside the front and back covers and fly leaf pages have tape residue and staining on them. A few pages at the back have vertical creasing.
