A beautiful, only slightly worn copy of this classic work of pre-Vatican II Catholic devotion! This is the complete Benedictine hours of Prime, Lauds, Terce, Sext, None, Vespers and Compline, in Latin and English in paralle...l columns for all the feasts and seasons in the traditional Benedictine calendar, with an updated table of movable feasts. The Latin text is the traditional Vulgate psalter. Ideal for novices, monks and nuns when travelling, Benedictine oblates, guests at monasteries, and all who wish to draw upon the riches of the ancient and traditional Benedictine office.
This Diurnal is bound in imitation black leather, and includes red-edged pages, and six colored placemarking ribbons. The book is housed in an imitation black-leather sleeve with a snap-close cover. I'm also including a selection of holy cards and other ephemera found inside the volume, including the Daily Examination of Conscience for the Use of Persons Consecrated to God.
Hard to find in its original pre-Vatican II edition -- a must-own for all Catholic faithful who pray the Benedictine Office!
