C. JULII CAESARIS Quae Extant Interpretatione Et Notis, by Thomas Clark/Johannes Godvinus, 1838C. Julii Caesaris Quae Extant Interpretatione et Notis Illustravit Johannes Godvinus, by Thomas Clark.  Published in 1838 by Thomas, Cowperthwait & Co.  Marked "Clark's Caesar" in gilt on the spine. "With notes and interpretations translated and improved by Thomas Clark."   Text is in Latin, but there are extensive notes in English at page bottoms a...nd a short summary of the chapter in English at the beginning of each. With three foldout maps (Europe, Italy and North Africa) and one foldout,  showing a military bridge -- all by Johannes Godvinus. Hardcover, bound in full leather with gilt titles on the spine.  Foldouts are in very good condition.  Light foxing in places and some pencil notations, which could be easily erased.  Names of former owners and dates on endpapers.  Holding together well, but fragile.  Wear to edges.
