In 1885 the Pinkerton work was continued and updated with the publication of  "Medallic Illustrations of then History of Great Britain and Ireland". The 1885 work "contains descriptions of all medals at present known that illustrate the history... of great Britain and Ireland up to the death of George 2nd. This set is a reprint of the 1885 edition done by Spink & Son LTD. in 1978. Many medals are represented using wood carvings to print the illustrated image. See photos.Condition - Like new inside. Binding is tight, boards are near excellent. No dust covers. A handsome looking set that is a must for any medal collector or student of history.
