I have here for sale a superbly illustrated book entitled A HISTORY OF BRITISH BIRDS VOL VI by the Rev F O Morris. It is the 6th volume of a 6 volume set and is a classic collector's item, published in 1866 by Groombridge and Sons, London and includes 60 beautiful hand-painted coloured plates by the author, each one accompanying information on the individual species. This volume focuses on Divers; Guillemots; Puffins; Terns; Gulls; Skuas; Shearwaters; Petrels and Kitti...wakes among others.Dark green blind embossed hardboards with gilt illustration of 2 seabirds to front board. Highly decorated in gilt on spine with gilt lettering. Boards in very good condition, binding tight apart from p35-38.
