RARE Antique 19th C - Early 1900s SHAKER Wire WOOD HANDLE Fly Swatter TOOL --- good antique used condition - shows the wear and patina expected of items of this age and use--- -- measures approximately 15.5" in length and approx 4.75" wide at widest point of swatter portion. We have been told this may be a Shaker example of an early fly swatter- we have no definitive information nor provenance so we can only say it is a really nice rare form of an old antique fly swatter. It is made... of wire (swatter portion which has seen some wear. I have never seen any fly swatter this old so I am happy to offer this one for sale. The wire portion of the swatter is surrounded by some fabric that edges it. There is also wear to the fabric or edging in areas. The handle is turned wood and has been painted black - don't know if paint is original or not but we believe it to be.
