used, serviced, Aiwa TP-1001 Reel to Reel Stereo Tape Recorder, fully tested
made a power cord by whittling a different cord to fit, tested with it. The rubber reel holders are worn with age, and tend to come loose unless lined with a small bit of paper, so Rubber washers are used, as shown. There is a thin paper on the take-up reel , It was left in place during testing. The Pause control is erratic, sometimes it acts as if it's in fast forward , when released, doesn't... latch properly. The take up reel and a used, recorded Scotch tape is included. The tape came from a different sale, so was recorded on a different recorder. It plays on 3 3/4 ips and sounds very good.
This came from an estate sale. It was tested on all 3 speeds, for 1 7/8 ips, the capstan sleeve must be removed, then speed selector placed in 3 3/4 ips The removable cover is included,
