Original Description:
Fall is here in New England, and the chill is in the air. Soon it will be Christmas, so it’s time to think about gifts for your Vintage Electronics friends. It’s back to work for me- auctioning 17 excellent tube radios, transistor radios, amplifiers, tube tester, and a set of In the Box Sansui Speakers on eBay this week. There is something for everyone, and all lots are No Reserve- starting at $19.99 and go to the highest bidder. I’ve been auctioning on eBay for over 20 years, an...d I’m finally getting to the “BETTER STUFF” I’ve kinda saved for myself. Most of these items are fairly small, so the shipping should be reasonable all over the world. Bid now, and bid on as many as you would like. If it makes sense, I will package multiple wins together to minimize your shipping costs. Put me on your FAVORITE List, as I will be auctioning Select Vintage Electronics and Tubes all through the Fall, Winter, and Spring. You’ll never guess what is coming next! Good Luck, Bruce Phillips- RadioorphanageWonderful, Historic 1920 Hoyt 100 Tube Tester with Western Electric 216-A Tube NR Here for your consideration is a Wonderful and Historic 1920 Hoyt Model 100 Tube Tester with a good filament Western Electric 216-A Tennis Ball Tube in it. To the best of my knowledge, the Hoyt 100 was the first available commercial tube tester, and it was built right here in Cow Hampshire just about 100 years ago! Built by Hoyt Electrical Instruments of Penacook, New Hampshire to be exact. It was marketed by the Burton-Rogers Company in Boston, Mass. This tester sold for $35 in 1920, and you will find it on page 101 of Tube Testers and Classic Test Equipment by Alan Douglas. This 9" x 5" x 2.5" tester only did a few tubes, because they were about the only tubes at that time: UV-201A & C301A, C299 & UV199, WD11 &WD12, C301 & UV201, DV3, and the Western Electric 216A. The tester is complete, but has not been tested. I don't test or clean these pre 1930 battery pieces, and will leave that up to the new owner. Operating instructions are on the bottom of the tester. The Western Electric 216-A is physically excellent with an excellent internal structure, and excellent tip. This nickel based tube shows good continuity, and the engraved base shows patent dates of January 1907 to January 1920. This is truly a petite, eye catching, vintage, and historic piece of early Radio and Audio that will look impressive wherever you display it. My son says it is time for a new owner to enjoy it, so here you go. Good Luck, Radioorphanage !! These items all come from a SMOKE FREE, SMELL FREE Home. RADIOORPHANAGE EBAY INFORMATION: 1) 2019 is my 21th year selling on eBay. I have bought, sold, and collected 25+ to 100+ year old Vintage Electronics for over 40 years. As I trim my collection, I try to sell a variety of interesting, hard to find Radios, Amplifiers, Record Players, Vinyl, Stereo Receivers, Speakers, Telephones, Transistor Radios, Tube Hi Fi and Audio, Television, Amateur Radio and Communication Devices, Vacuum Tubes, Telegraphs, Gaming Equipment, Early Computers and Calculators. 2)Check out all my other auctions, and mark me as a Favorite Seller. September to May is my selling season. There is something here for any vintage electronics collector or nostalgia buff. All items are sold NO RESERVE. My current feedback is 99.6% with over 5000 feedbacks. I was the President of the New England Antique Radio Club and then the New England Vintage Electronics Club for the past six years. I stepped down at the end of 2018 to concentrate on finding new owners for the Vintage Electronics my son is not interested in. 3) I value you as a customer, and more importantly, a returning customer. All my auctions run No Reserve for 10 days- from Thursday to the following Sunday. I pack all the items on Sunday and Monday, and ship all items that are paid for on Monday, latest Tuesday. I reward your fast payment with excellent packing, and lightning fast shipping. 4) I have no interest in taking advantage of anyone, and I have no need to. If you understand what you are bidding on, and how Vintage Electronics work, you will be very happy. If you don’t understand how to put an antenna on an old tube radio, or how to connect speakers to a Vintage Amplifier, join a local Antique Radio or Vintage Electronics Club. If you don’t know where your closest club is, let me know, and I’ll tell you. If you don’t know how to hook up or use what you are bidding on, or know someone who does, please don’t bid. ASK QUESTIONS about anything you don’t understand. I want you to be happy.5) Shipping is expensive. You can pick your item up with NO SHIPPING costs at my home 50 miles north of Boston with advanced notice. The eBay concept of “free shipping” is one of the 3 biggest lies. We are the best packers on eBay, and pack YOUR item the way we’d like to receive it-if it was being sent to us. We take extra care in packaging, (Bubble wrap, foam pellets, proper boxes, etc.)(NOT the wadded up newspaper trick) There is a cost for doing this right. Our goal is to get it to you in good shape, and for you to not have to file those fruitless shipping claims. Let's face it, once it's broke, it's broke. We have lost a significant amount of money in packaging costs over the past 20 years, and will continue to do so to get it to you in one piece. 6) YOU & US: Note that the majority of what we sell is antique, vintage, and/or collectable electronics. For liability purposes, Radioorphanage / Bruce Phillips accept NO responsibility for how the buyer uses or misuse of the items. We see you as a valued customer, and want you to be happy. Bid with confidence, as we are in this for the long haul- not for a quick buck. If you are not happy, for any reason, let us know and we'll try to make it right. 7) Questions? Please ask!
