Pair WESTERN ELECTRIC KS-16617-L1 6V6GT Tube Amps - Clean!
Pair of identical vintage Western Electric KS-16617-L1 6V6GT rack-mount tube amplifiers removed from working installation. Guaranteed operating and unmodified (but will need to be modified for home audio use to remove the relay circuit, etc.).
Input transformers are: B-187697. Output and power transformers have identical part numbers. Tube complement is: (2) 6V6GT, 5Y3 rectifier, (2) 12...AU7, (2) 12AT7, (1) 6BA6. All tubes tested and tubes testing below minimum have been replaced with excellent quality vintage U.S. tubes. Notably, the output tubes are two matched pairs of smoked glass RCA 6V6GT tubes. Amps are in excellent condition with only a few minor blemishes. No rust on transformers or elsewhere.
Power output is 8 watts per channel into 8 ohms. I have a copy of the schematic for this amp and can attach it via email to the buyer. The amps were hardwired into the installation and, as stock, do not have RCA input jacks. Also, there are numerous output impedance taps ranging from 1 ohm, 4 ohms, 8 ohms, and 600 ohms. Amplifier dimensions are: 19 inches long to edge of amp chassis, 23 inches to outer edge of rack mount brackets, 7 inches deep and 6.5 inches tall.
Each amp weighs about 19 pounds before packing so I have estimated 24 pounds each for two packages. For shipment within the U.S., I can probably pack both amps in one box. I will ship the tubes separately by USPS Priority Mail and have covered that under a $10.00 handling fee. I have entered a fixed shipping cost estimate of $95.00 for shipping from Connecticut to California. If you live closer and the cost is less, I will refund the difference.
For shipment outside the U.S., I will likely need to ship in two boxes (except for shipping to Hong Kong, which I can do in one box due to more lenient package size allowance. FYI, I sold a pair before to Hong Kong and shipped them in one box for $220.00.) FOR NON-U.S. BUYERS, PLEASE DO NOT PAY IMMEDIATELY AFTER PURCHASE, BUT WAIT FOR ME TO SEND THE INVOICE! I will pack them carefully and get the exact shipping cost for the invoice.
