French Line SS NORMANDIE June 1935 Charity Program. Theatre Normandie directed by Robert Trebor featuring Phil De Jongh, Suzanne Chevalier-Carmencita an opera singer who can be heard on youtube. Simone Binois an opera singer, Sally Metcalf an acrobatic dancer, Bernice Claire an American singer who did light opera and lived in Oakland CA. She made 3 films in 1930 for Warner Brothers. Eileen Ford a Toe dancer and Nellie Durkin a blues singer who preformed vaudeville. Jacques Pills and Ge...orges Tebet a French singing duo from the Casino de Paris. They toured Hollywood, London and New York. They can be heard on youtube. The duo was separated in 1939 to the declaration of war. Jacques Pills was taken prisoner of war in World War II. Some of the charities listed include the Seamen's Curch Institute of New York, Seamen's House Y.M.C.A. Brooklyn, German Seamen's Home and the Emergency Committee for Destitute Seamen. The Normandie caught fire and capsized in 1942 and was scrapped in 1946. Condition is very good Used. Some age spots on outside overall very nice piece of history.
