(With Macro) The Original Vintage Beercan Zoom Good Condition
This auction is for the 1stGeneration Vintage fixed maximum aperture (f/4) version of this 70-210mm. (S/N 171045xx)Known endearingly as the “Beercan” due to its startling resemblance to a 16 oz.beverage container, this lens is attaining cult-like status amongst Maxxum DSLRenthusiasts as the telephoto to shoot with.
This is an Alpha mount lensand requ...ires an adapter for use with Sony E mount camera bodies.
I would classify the lens inthis auction to be in good condition cosmetically.Let’s cut to the chase here….this is not the prettiest lens by a long shot. “Good”is low on my rating scale – it means it is functional, but it shows a lot ofcosmetic wear to all enamel surfaces, including the leading edge of the lensbehind the focus ring where all enamel is worn off. The focus ring shows some cosmeticwear too. Please have a really good look at the photos before purchasing.
The good news is that theglass is nearly pristine, with just a few pinpoint cleaning marks at theperiphery of the front element. The rear is clean. Inside is clean as well with no fungus or haze.
The aperture blades aresnappy, and the stainless lens mount looks very lightly worn. Zoom and focusrings turn smoothly and are not sloppy.
