About French*Antique*ManoirFrench*Antique*Manoir is a charming antique french brocante and antiques from 18th century until the Art Déco period which come essentially from the Loire Valley, known for its history, wine, family property, manoir and castles.
Here you have a lovely batch of seven antique French silver and gold and silver metallic threads that dates from the late 1800s. This attic chateau find is rare, originally used for embroidery ecclesiast...ical vestments, they can be now wonderful for any of your textile projects. I didn't measure them but the spools are full and quite heavy (12cm/ 4.72" for the longest one). Some are numbered and some still have their original early 1900 labels on the spools wood...so adorable! One of the spool has a black ink stamp that reads "marque Française" or "Fil d'or". Very sought after and rare to find, they are the most adorable confection. Here is the measurements of the largest spool: 12cm/ 4.72" height and 4cm/ 1.57" diameter and the smallest is 3.5cm/ 1.38" height and 2cm/0.79" diameter.
They were probably not very used because they are quite complete, almost at a new condition, you will have a large amount of threads because they seem to be full, also despite their great age, they have a beautiful shine with a beautiful light reflection and they are still sturdy under tension, the batch is Simply gorgeous.
