The book (8vo) is bound in green morocco, ornately stamped in blind and black with gilt lettering pieces, with spine in six compartments divided by raised bands, gilt lettering pieces in... compartment two, repeated motif in black in the remainder; joints are a tad tender; light scuffs to board edges and extremities; spine is slightly faded, with scuffs top and tail and to the raised bands.Inside:
Scattered foxing and brown blemishes to varying degrees, to the first and last 30 pages or so, along with faint toning, and handling marks to margins; otherwise occasional minor foxing and brown blemishes to edges and/or margins with nice bright pages, just one affected by browning from offsetting, which has transferred from the guard sheet.The book contains 7 leaves of plate, all with guardsheets; the frontispiece portrait with moderate foxing to the margins, two of the plates with foxing to the upper margin but otherwise clean, the remainder entirely clean; all are bright and free of toning; the guard sheets are in varying conditions.There is a run of dog eared corners, but no rips or tears.There are a few pages pulling at the gutter.The front inner hinge is weak.
The book measures 17 cm x 11 cm and weighs 440g without packaging
