The following explanation helps to provide background on this piece:
"Felix the Cat was introduced to British audiences through Eve and Everybody’s Film Review magazine and was an instant hit with the public, as popular as he had been when first released to American audiences three years earlier in 1919. The cartoon cat featured in various editions of ‘Eve’ from 1922 through to 1926 and was heavily marketed as a ‘brand’ that spawned a huge range of promotional merchandise, including a series of Felix the Cat enamel badges of which some were made in silver. Generally, Felix the Cat merchandise bares the imprint “Pathé’s Eve Film Review” or a variation of the same."
