Antique French Religious painetd and signed porcelain plaque of the Madonna in a Superb enamelled brass Frame, missing the back part (stand) this fabulous quality piece still displays exceptionally well and would look great standing upon a suitable bronze easel stand.
Behind the scenes the plaque and frame is being held in position with blue tac, there are threaded holes which may have been for attaching or a backing, there are two threaded holes to the base edge which makes me... wonder if this could have been a very high quality font at some point?
Either way, a fabulous and high quality item.
The plaque is signed to the reverse and dates to the mid/late 19th century.
A very well painted plaque offered in very good condition with the usual minor marks and scuffs commensurate with age.
Gorgeous quality and very decorative.
