RARE ANTIQUE GUERLAIN COLOGNE IMPERIALE ICONIC GOLDEN BEE PERFUME SCENT BOTTLE ... Click images to enlarge Description
I'm very proud to offer for sale this rare iconic antique perfume bottle for Eau de Cologne Imperiale by Guerlain. This stunning and much sought after perfume bottle was originally created in 1853 for the Empress Eugenie, wife of Napoleon III. The decorative bees were a symbol of Napoleon III and have since then become Guerlain's house symbol.
This clear glass perfume bottle stands an impressive 8 inches in height and has a diameter at the base of 3 1/2 inches. The glass bottle has honeycomb pattern to the globular glass stopper and to the shoulders whilst the body is covered in raised bees all hand painted in 24K gold. This bottle carries a gold painted monogram to the front, and this feature dates the bottle to 1927-1936. The original green paper label is therefore situated on the base of the bottle and given it's placement has no fading or wear. I can see that the bottom of the bottle is stamped Made in France.
This fabulous perfume bottle is offered in good condition with no chips, cracks or fractures to the glass body. There is little if any wear at all to the gold painted decoration and the glass stopper sits firmly in the neck. There is chip in the plug of the stopper obviously not visible when in place. Fabulous, rare bottle for the collector. Thank you for looking. Images sell!
